RAVI Kiss You Review

RAVI Brings Pop Punk Vibes With “KISS YOU”

Throughout all of his solo releases, VIXX‘s Ravi has consistently brought high energy, and he doesn’t disappoint with his newest release! Earlier this week, the singer/rapper dropped his newest album LOVE & HOLIDAY, including the vibrant and upbeat “KISS YOU.”

RAVI doesn’t waste any time on “KISS YOU,” kicking things off with steady drum beats, guitar riffs, and backing vocals, all coming together for a solid pop-punk track. The track brings together the essential elements of the genre, power chords, a fast tempo, and pop melodies, and doesn’t mess with them; as the saying goes “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” It’s a straightforward and fun offering that’s sure to get fans moving and shouting along at the top of their lungs.

RAVI’s performance on the track is a solid fusion of his deeper and more raspy tone, mixed with the shout singing, slightly nasal tone that is a trademark of punk and its subgenres. It’s a delivery that allows for more room to move around and a high-energy performance, which is something that RAVI is very accustomed to. “I wish you here / No war / You’re the reason I believe in love,” RAVI declares in the second verse. The song is a declaration of love and desire to be by someone’s side, no matter what life throws their way. It can be heard and seen as a love letter to the fans who support the singer, as the accompanying video is a touching compilation of RAVI performing for his fans, featuring a chant of “사랑해” (“I love you” in Korean) during the bridge.

“KISS YOU” is a sweet and fun love letter to fans from RAVI, who has shown time and time again, that he is here to stay and deliver work that never fails to brighten the mood and clearly showcase his passion.
